Wedding DJ, London at Charlton House, Jake and Liz

I first met Jake and Liz at a wedding fair at the same said venue and I was later fortunate enough to be awarded the opportunity to be London Wedding DJ. After our initial consultancy it became apparent that as well as Wedding DJ, mood lighting would be of great benefit to the venue as would the supply of a Mobile PA for music and wireless microphones at the ceremony, drinks and canapes and wedding breakfast.

The event benefited from an delivery and set up of the equipment and I returned early evening to be their DJ. This was the scene Saturday lunchtime prior to the event with the booth pushed back and equipment stowed away nearby and the Mobile PA all ready for the ceremony in another room.

Upon my return Saturday evening, and after a short wait for the end of the speeches the news at the time of room turnaround was that there was no electricity! The news doesn't come much worse than that. Upon closer inspection we established that the majority of the room was without power but we were able to run extensions from a far away plug. And so while a lot of the moodlighting wasn't working the music went ahead and after a brief warm up the Cake Cutting and First Dance swiftly followed.

After the First Dance, and a further slow one, we went into dancing and the dance floor action continued unabated all night. Jake and Liz, plus their guests had made some great requests which were enthusiastically received. One guest informed me that Liz was the original Uptown Girl, a Cheltenham girl who had settled for a boy from Abbey Wood! Cue Billy Joel's same said track, suitably introduced of course which went down a storm.
