The day before the longest day was a very joyous one as Tom and Rachael celebrated their marriage with friends and family with an intimate get together on Kent's 'Riviera' north coast! Tom and Rachael had explicitly selected me as they didn't want the stereotypical 'wedding DJ'. Together we put programmed the day's entertainment to include:
myself as MC for all announcements
mood lighting for the whole of the function room
welcoming music for a short drinks reception
grand entrance for the bridal couple to the wedding breakfast
background music to the wedding breakfast
staging of cake cutting and first dance
other special dances - family and Irish dancing
reception party
The function room was a great layout but a little drab with all grey walls and a low white ceiling. A complete room installation of #moodlighting totally changed the feel. The room now had a warm ambience and looked great as the colours matched throughout, including the cake.
For their celebratory music the majority was delegated to me whilst Tom and Rachael supplied their important and meaningful tracks that carried an emotional significance for them, their family and some of their guests. It was a great day and it's always rewarding when members of the family, and more importantly the bride and groom, come up at the end of the evening to shake your hand and thank you for a job well done.
The evening's entertainment was spiced up with some Irish dancing in which the bridal couple got fully involved, and then Tom rounded off with a surprise solo display - much enjoyed by all.
